Job Description:

Ottawa IT Support is seeking highly motivated software tester to join our growing team. As a software tester, you'll be involved in the quality assurance stage of software development and deployment. You'll conduct automated and manual tests to ensure the software created by developers is fit for purpose and any bugs or issues are removed within a product before it gets deployed to everyday users.

What You’ll Do:

• Test software / hardware functionality, compatibility, and system integration;

• Assist the design team in the failure analysis of defects;

• Assist the project management team as required to accomplish the goals of the project;

• Support our clients during User Acceptance Testing by providing manual testing of software configurations and integrations;

• Analyze system, software, and hardware specifications and interface documents;

• Interact with the development, configuration, and operations team to ensure the quality of software meets users’ expectations;

• Involve in writing and implementation of test cases for various software modules.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Software and IT Analyst, Software and IT Consultant or similar role

• Knowledge of databases, system security and troubleshooting

• Experience in Software and IT infrastructure components (networks, systems, applications,
  and storage), Software and IT security principles and related methodologies, Software and IT
  security technologies.

• Understanding of business practices

• Analytical mindset

• Problem-solving aptitude

Experience:

• Master’s degree and three (1) year of relevant experience

• Underfill – no experience requirement.

• Undergraduate degree and eight (3) years of relevant experience

• Underfill – no experience requirement.

• Underfill – Candidates who do not meet the required years of relevant experience will be considered as an underfill. All underfills will be required to meet the requirements noted below through achieving specific experience and objectives set in their training plan in order to subsequently be appointed to the full working level.
